Canadian guidelines recommend that average risk * individuals aged 50-74, be screened every 2 years for colorectal cancer via a FIT (stool test).
This is a simple procedure that can be done in the comfort of one’s own home. However, less than 60% of Canadians (50-74 yrs) partake in this screening, despite most provinces and territories having provincial screening programs. As such we are calling out to all organizations to partner with us to help raise awareness and attain an objective of 60% screened within the target population in communities across the country.
By taking the pledge you will help spread the message within your organization so that no Canadian is diagnosed or dies of colorectal cancer due to a lack of awareness.
*average risk: People aged 50-74 with no symptoms and no previous personal or family history or related syndromes.
Every person you tell about colorectal cancer screening is another potential life saved!
