Colorectal cancer is the currently the 2nd leading cause of cancer deaths among men and the third leading cause of cancer deaths among women. 90% of diagnoses are treatable and curable if detected early. Participating in colorectal cancer screening, such as a FIT test (which can be done in the comfort of one’s home) is essential in prevention. Alarmingly, regardless of colorectal cancer being preventable, treatable and beatable, it has remained one of the deadliest cancers for the last 25 years despite the ease with which one can be screened for the disease.
Taking The Pledge represents a commitment working towards increasing the number of people screened for colorectal cancer and to substantially reduce colorectal cancer as a major public health problem. By participating in this initiative, you agree to join others in the fight against colorectal cancer and to raise awareness among members of your organization of the importance of screening. This allows us to work collectively towards eliminating disparities in access to care and ensuring that all Canadians have access to this relevant information concerning their health and the importance of timely screening. Mobilize your organization to join the movement to educate and save lives by getting involved today.
After you take the pledge, you will receive a welcome email and a communication kit to help you raise awareness within your organization.
